Negli ultimi mesi i fan di League of Legends di tutto il mondo hanno potuto osservare eccitanti partite nell’ambito della scena competitiva. Con la chiusura imminente della Season Two il campionato mondiale è pronto per offrire l’esperienza più elettrizzante. I migliori dodici team da cinque regioni si daranno battaglia a Los Angeles, California dal 4-6 ottobre fino al 13 per stabilire il più forte team di League of Legends nel mondo e decidere chi porterà a casa la mastodontica cifra di $2,000,000 dollari di montepremi.
Il Format
Per il campionato mondiale abbiamo optato per un format che favorisse i vincitori delle Regionals dando comunque l’opportunità per chiunque dei dodici team di entrare nella storia di League of Legends come campione della Season Two.
Inizialmente la competizione è divisa in due: quattro dei cinque team che hanno vinto i loro Regionals avanzano direttamente ai quarti di finale , gli altri otto team competeranno in una fase a gruppi per stabilire le quattro squadre che avanzeranno ai quarti di finale.
Gli otto team non testa di serie sono divisi in gruppo A e gruppo B, si sfideranno testa a testa in match a partita secca. Ogni gruppo è stato scelto random e non sfiderà team della stessa regione di provenienza durante la fase a gironi.
Dopo i primi dodici games della fase a gironi, le migliori due in ogni girone passeranno il turno per giocarsela contro le squadre vincenti dei Regionals in una sfida al meglio delle tre, chi perde verrà eliminato. Dopo questi match arriveranno le semifinali mozzafiato, i vincitori di queste si scontreranno il 13 ottobre nella finale al meglio delle cinque.
Tutti i team che competeranno nella Season Two Championship non solo avranno l’opportunità di rappresentare le loro nazioni ma riceveranno anche un premio cash a seconda della loro performance nel torneo:
1°: $1,000,000
2°: $250,000
3°/4°: $150,000
5°~8° $75,000
9°/10°: $50,000
11°/12°: $25,000

Over the past few months, League of Legends fans around the world have experienced thrilling matches and exciting developments within the competitive scene. With Season Two coming to a close, the World Championship is set to deliver the most electrifying experience yet. The top twelve teams from five regions will battle it out in Los Angeles, California from October 4-6 and October 13 to determine the best League of Legends team in the world and to decide who will take home the lion’s share of the $2,000,000 prize pool.
The Format
For the World Championship, we’ve chosen a format that both rewards the Regional victors while also providing fair opportunity for any of the twelve teams to be immortalized in League of Legends history as the Season Two World Champion.
Two distinct stages initially divide the competition: four of the five seeded teams which won in their regions automatically advance to the quarterfinal stage*, while the other eight unseeded teams will compete in the group stage to determine which four will advance to the quarterfinals.
The eight unseeded teams, divided into Group A and Group B, go head-to-head in a best-of-one Round Robin format in the group stage. Each group was randomly selected, and will not compete against teams within their own region during the group stage.
After twelve games have been played in the first stage, the top two teams in each group will advance to play the Regional winners in a best-of-three Single-Elimination quarterfinals. These do-or-die matches will lead to explosive semi-finals games, after which only the two best teams will remain standing for the ultimate face-off on October 13 in the best-of-five World Finals.
All teams which compete in the Season Two World Championship will not only have the opportunity to represent their countries and compete on a global scale, but will also receive a cash prize based upon their performances at the tournament:
