Counter Logic Gaming vs. Curse Gaming

Per il match di apertura delle North American Regionals, i Curse Gaming hanno affrontato i CLG in uno scontro epico su tutta la linea. Il vincitore che si sarebbe assicurato un posto nei Season Two World Playoffs in aggiunta ad uno stipendio per l’intera squadra nelle prossime Championship Series della Season Three, entrambe le squadre hanno tutto quello che avevano per vincere la partita più importante delle loro vite.

Come se la posta in gioco non fosse stata abbastanza, le squadre hanno tra di loro una rinomata rivalità che si è creata nell’anno. Sia Crs Elementz che Crs Saintvicious giocavano nei CLG, l’ultimo scontro con il capitano dei CLG, HotshotGG, fu cosi feroce che venne cacciato dalla squadra. Ora in una resa dei conti al meglio delle tre che ha deciso il destino della carriera delle loro squadre, entrambi i jungler non si sono trattenuti nel provare la loro dominanza.

Due secondi prima dell’inizio della partita, i CLG hanno cambiato le loro Summoner Spell in una combinazione di tre Teleport ed un singolo Promote senza precedenti. Ciò che abbiamo visto in seguito è stata una squadra come non ne abbiamo mai viste prima, con gank che si materializzavano in tutta la mappa ed una costante pressione su tutte le torri dei Curse.

Tutte queste teamfight sono state a favore dei CLG, come il precedente Teleport backdooring che ha lasciato i Curse sparsi per tutta la mappa ed incapaci di rispondere ai rapidissimi tentativi al Baron dei CLG.

Entrambi i team sapevano che la seconda partita doveva essere assolutamente vinta, quindi si è tornati ad una battaglia classica. SaintVicious ha scelto la sua famosa jungle Shyvana e il suo rivale HotshotGG ha preso il suo ugualmente rinomato Alistar. Avendo vinto la prima partita con un rischioso azzardo, i CLG hanno scelto di tornare allo stile di gioco che li ha resi famosi anche prima del loro viaggio in Korea. Ma i Curse hanno aumentato la loro aggressione, entrambi i team costantemente a rischio di massacrarsi a vicenda in ogni schermaglia.

Quando entrambe le squadre si sono finalmente scontrati, la superiore abilità nel farming dei CLG gli ha dato un leggero vantaggio che ha ribaltato gli scontri a loro favore. Anche quando un rapido Baron dei Curse ha pareggio i gold a 45 minuti, un errore tattico dei Curse è risultato in un contrattacco senza pietà dei CLG, arrivando fino al Nexus per assicurarsi il loro terzo posto ai North American Regionals.

Match Finale: Team Solo Mid vs. Team Dignitas

Essendo arrivati alle Finali ieri, entrambe le squadre si sono assicurate uno stipendio da pro-player ed il loro posto nelle World Championships. Ma in palio c’erano 40,000 dollari e un’importantissima classificazione alle World Championship che potrebbe risparmiargli un Group stage ad Ottobre.

Immergendoci nella partita, i Dignitas hanno detto di confidare nella loro abilità per battere i TSM, favoriti dai fan, ma dopo 20 minuti di partita, è stato chiaro che oggi i Dignitas erano surclassati dalla coordinazione di massimo livello dei TSM.

I TSM sono sopravvissuti battaglia dopo battaglia con uno sputo di vita, Dignitas incapaci di finire i loro nemici nonostante le fantastiche iniziative e intelligenti manovre tattiche. Lo schiacciante strapotere dei TSM in mid e top, ha permesso di trascorrere un mid game semplice combinando la vittoria del teamfight alla più veloce uccisione del Baron del torneo. Nonostante un’eroica difesa del loro Nexus, i Dignitas erano sopraffatti nei teamfigh con il risultato di veder cadere una torre dopo l’altra, fino alla distruzione del Nexus a 39 minuti.

Il secondo Game era un “vivere o morire” per i Dignitas, che tornati alla strategia di una composizione del Team basata sul poke che li aveva portati alla vittoria in semifinale. Ma i TSM hanno reagito alla grande, buttando giù le torri dei Dignitas velocemente e forzando i teamfight con le ultimate di Morgana e Skarner da parte di Reginal e TheOddOne.

Impossibilitati ad attuare la loro strategia senza essere completamente sopraffatti in teamfight i TSM sistematicamente raggiungevano i loro obbiettivi, era solo una questione di tempo prima che l’incredibile vantaggio preso dai TSM buttasse giù la via che li avrebbe portati al Nexus nemico e al primo titolo dei North American Regionals.

MVP delle North American Regionals: ChaoX

Anche se l’incredibile performance da parte dei giocatori di tutti i team hanno ricevuto boati dalla folla, il carry AD dei TSM ChaoX si distingue non solo come un giocare sempre eccellente, ma come chi ha esibito uno dei migliori intuiti di posizionamento del mondo. Ripetutamente nel posto giusto al momento giusto non solo ha permesso ai suoi compagni di preparagli delle devastanti kill, ma ha forzato i nemici dei TSM di aggiustare o abbandonare le loro strategie di fronte al suo schiacciante DPS.

In aggiunta, ChaoX continua a far crescere la sua nomea come uno dei dominatori più consistenti della lane durante le fasi iniziali di gioco, vincendo ripetutamente la sfida dei CS con il suo opponente anche se il suo team stava perdendo, e dominando la lane quando il vantaggio era per i TSM. Finendo i North American Regionals con un incredibile 7.4/1.8/5.8 KDA, il suo eccellente gioco con Graves e maestoso Corki ha permesso a Chaox di guadagnarsi il premio come MVP (Most Valuable Player, ossia giocatore di maggior valore) delle North American Regionals.

L’eccitante conclusione delle North American Regionals ha visto i TSM, Dignitas e CLG guadagnarsi un posto per il campionato mondiale. For the opening match of the North American Regionals, Curse Gaming faced off against CLG in an epic grudge match with everything on the line. With the winner securing their position in the Season Two World Playoffs in addition to a guaranteed salary for their entire team in the upcoming Championship Series in Season Three, both teams brought everything they had to win the most important games of their lives.

As if the stakes weren’t high enough, the teams have a famous rivalry that’s been a year in the making. Both Crs Elementz and Crs Saintvicious used to play for CLG, the latter clashing with CLG’s captain HotshotGG so badly he was kicked from the team. Now in a best of three showdown that decided the fate of their team’s careers, both junglers held nothing back in their attempt to prove their dominance.

Two seconds before the game began, CLG switched their Summoner spells to an unprecedented triple Teleport, single Promote combination. What followed was a team unlike anything we’ve seen before, with ganks materializing all over the map and constant pressure on all Curse’s towers.

The back and forth teamfights eventually swung in CLG’s favor, as previous Teleport backdooring left Curse spread out across the map and unable to respond to lightning fast CLG baron attempts.

Both teams knew that game two was an absolute must-win, so the game reverted to a classic battle. SaintVicious picked his famous jungle Shyvana as his rival HotShotGG took his equally world-class Alistar. Having won game one with a daring metagame gamble, CLG chose to revert to theplaystyle that made them famous even before their journey to Korea. But Curse amped up their own aggression, both teams perpetually on the edge of slaughtering each other in every skirmish.

When both teams finally clashed, CLG’s superior farming skills gave them a slight advantage that tipped excruciatingly close fights in their favor. Even when a quick baron by Curse evened up the gold 45 minutes in, a tactical mistake by Curse resulted in a remorseless CLG counterattack, driving all the way to the Nexus to secure their 3rd place finish at the North American Regionals.

Final Match: Team Solo Mid vs. Team Dignitas

By making it to the North American Regional Finals yesterday, both teams secured a pro-player salary and their spots in the World Championships. But what remained at stake was a $40,000 and all-important World Championship seeding that could spare them a Group Stage showing in October.

Going into the match, Dignitas was vocally confident in their ability to beat fan-favorite TSM, but 20 minutes into the game, it was clear that today Dignitas was outmatched by TSM’s top-tier coordination.

TSM survived fight after fight with slivers of health, Dignitas unable to finish off their targets despite fantastic initiations and clever strategic maneuvering. TSM’s crushed both mid and top, which transitioned smoothly to mid-game teamfight wins and combined to result in the tournament’s earliest Baron kill at 22 minutes. Despite a heroic defense of their nexus, Dignitas was eventually overwhelmed as teamfights resulted in tower after tower falling, all leading to a Nexus kill at 39 minutes.

Game 2 was a do-or-die match for Dignitas, who reverted to the secret poke comp strategy that brought them victory in the Semi-Finals. But TSM had already changed gears, pushing down the Dignitas turrets early and forcing teamfights with predatory Morgana and Skarner ultimates from Reginald and TheOddOne.

Unable to implement their team strategy without being utterly overrun in teamfights and with TSM systematically taking objectives, it was only a matter of time before before an incredibly fed TSM rolled their way to the enemy Nexus and the North American Regionals first place title.

North American Regionals MVP: ChaoX

Though incredible performances from players across all teams received roars of approval from the packed auditorium, Team Solo Mid’s AD carry ChaoX stands out as not only the most consistently outstanding player, but one who exhibits some of the world’s best intuitive positioning. Repeatedly being in the right place at the right time not only allowed his own teammates to set him up for devastating kills, but forced TSM’s opponents to adjust or abandon their strategies in the face of his crushing DPS.

In addition, ChaoX continued his legacy as one of the most consistently dominant laners in the game, repeatedly matching his opponents CS when his team was losing, and dominating his lane when the match advantage went to TSM. Ending the North American Regionals with an incredible 7.4/1.8/5.8 KDA, his excellent Graves play and awe-inspiring Corki earn TSM ChaoX the Most Valuable Player award for the North American Regionals.
